A Look Back at 2008

This past year, Adam and I have been so blessed to have Zachary in our lives. He has filled ourselves with much love, laughter, and happiness. For Zachary, 2008 has been a year of firsts. He had his first birthday, his first words, his first pumpkin patch, first time trick or treating, and playing in the snow. What a year, Zachary we love you!

Santa Claus came to Zachary's House

We had a very nice Christmas morning, Portland's first white Christmas! It is so exciting as a parent to see your kids face lit up when they come down the stairs to see what Santa brought. Zachary had so much fun playing with his new toys!

Christmas Eve

We had a very nice Christmas Eve, early that day we went to downtown Portland and enjoyed walking around the city and seeing all the snow. Later that day we went to candle light mass and came home and opened our christmas pajamas.

Choo-Choo

Zachary and I took the train home from Tacoma. We were able to catch the last train home before the train closed due to freezing conditions on the track. Zachary enjoyed the train a lot, he could get up walk around, watch a movie, and visit the little cafe for some cookies!

My Dad's Tree

Every year my mom tries to get my dad to put lights up around the house, and every year no lghts are put up around the house. This year however, my dad did put lghts up around one of the trees in their yard. But he didn't stop at that, he decided to make it his own Christmas tree and decorate the tree with red and green balls and a gold star on top!

Santa Claus

Adam and I took Zachary to visit Santa Claus tonight. We were very nervous as to how well he would do, since last year all we got were tears! This year he ran right up to him sat on his lap and didn't want to leave. I guess he had a long list of toys to tell Santa that he wanted! Or he was just trying to wiggle out more candy canes!

Ho, Ho, Ho

This past weekend we spent at home getting our house ready for Christmas. We put the lights out on our house and decorated our tree. It is always interesting trying to decorate your tree when your little boy only wants to eat all the candy canes!
This was Adam's one free weekend until the 18th, he heads into a grueling two weeks of finals for law school. This is when Zachary and I will go north and visit with my parents to give Adam some quiet study time with no distractions(Zachary!).

Tree Lighting

The Friday after Thanksgiving we went into downtown Portland to see the tree lighting at Pioneer Courthouse Square. For the past three years Adam and I have always gone and seen the tree, but this was the first year we were able to be there for the countdown. Zachary had a lot of fun seeing the thousands of people, dancing and singing along to the live music, and visiting with Santa Claus!

I love my Uncle Matty!

My brother Matt brought home a bunch of old Seattle Sonics gear for Zachary during Thanksgiving. Zachary loved all the cool gear he got, especially Kevin Durant's jersey! He won't ever take it off! Zachary had so much fun playing with his uncle Matty! But, Mommy and Daddy are missing there free basketball tickets! I guess we'll just have to settle for the Seattle Storm! I love you Matt!
