Blessed

These are two of my favorite pictures that Jenni, our photographer took during our newborn session with Wyatt. I just love them and Adam and I are so blessed to have such a healthy beautiful boy.

Wyatt One Month

Wyatt was a month old yesterday. I still have a hard time believing how fast it can all go by.
I feel like it was just yesterday that we were bringing Zachary home and now he is a fast energetic three year old.
Now our second son is already a month old and growing like a weed.
He is such a good natured boy and loves his older brother.
We have really been enjoying him and love the fact that we have a strong healthy boy.
I can't believe we have TWO BOYS!

More Wyatt

Being a Mom...

Being a mom means:
-Every day you will smile...even if you feel like crying.
-During certain circumstances, you can feel every human emotion in the matter of a single hour.
-A part of your heart will always be right there for the whole world to see.
-Sometimes only you will be able to tell what your toddler is saying.
-Your baby will only want you and no one else at least once a day.
-You will load up your car and drive to McDonald's because your 3 year old wants an ice cream cone and you know that she will eat the whole thing so you're OK with it.
-You will crave kissing soft baby skin and smelling sweet baby hair always.
-You will worry about the teenage years.
-You will wipe the slides at the park with your sleeve so that your kids will have dry bums after going down them.
-You will always have a job.
-"I love you, mommy!" will sound good any time of day...even at 3am.
-Your family will always be your first priority.
-Nights out with just your husband will always be fun, but Saturday mornings with the whole family together will always be the best!
-You may be scatterbrained at times, but when it comes down to the logistics of things you're spot-on.
-Sometimes you're the one that needs the time out.
-Your baby boy will steal your breath away with how handsome he is!
-Sometimes you just need a nap, too.
-Diet coke will be your friend if you can't take a nap!
-You will learn something new every day.
-You will fore-go a shower just to watch an early morning episode of Sesame Street while eating dry Cheerios from a cup for breakfast.
-Someone will always need something the minute you sit down to eat a meal.
-You will sometimes laugh and cry at the exact same time.
-Cleaning toilets can always be done tomorrow.
-The food on your plate will always look better to your kids than the food on their plate...even if it's the same food.
-The sound of your baby's laughter will always be music to your ears.
-You will thank God daily for the blessings that are your children.
-Your love will grow deeper every single day until, sometimes, you feel as though your heart may burst!
-You will thank your own mom for all she taught you! (And you'll call her frequently for even more advice!)

All Boy

I just love my big boy! Although, I do wish I had his energy! He is always on the go and never stops to walk, he is always running wherever he's going. The last couple days it has been sunny and beautiful, so on my walks with the boys I have been stopping at the park to let Zachary run around and exert more of his energy. He amazes me with all his activities that he has going on everyday that he never tires out!

Meet Wyatt Stephen

Our second son blessed us with his arrival on April 19th, 2010 at 10:18p.m. He was 9 pounds and 22 inches long. We were very fortunate to have a wonderful team of doctors and nurses the second time around. which made delivery comforting and nice. Wyatt is a very good baby and Zachary has taken well to having a new person around the house.
He loves to hold him, help in the feeding process.
We are truly blessed.

Waiting

Waiting seems to be what the Rankin household is going through right now in every aspect of our lives. Waiting to meet our new son, waiting to complete all of our projects that Adam and I have scheduled to do around our house. Today Zachary and I went and played at the park to kill some time before my doctors appointment. For the last two weeks I hear from my doctor that our little boy could come any day, but every day passes and no little boy.

So I keep Adam busy with projects around the house, when he's not at work, school, or at basketball. We currently have a lot of plans and projects that we are working on in our house. Adam has spent every Saturday when it hasn't been raining working on our backyard fixing it up and getting it ready for summer.

We are also redecorating our family room and master bedroom. Something Adam and I have been wanting to do for a while, but we decided to do Zachary's bedroom first and then make sure Samantha was fully trained before we redecorated! I will be so excited when all of these projects are done!

Baby Wyatt's room is ready and complete. Everything is purchased that he may possibly need, so know we just WAIT. Wait to meet our son that we have been impatiently awaiting. Then the next task will be to loose all the baby weight before my sister's wedding this summer. No one ever said our lives were boring!

Bittersweet

My favorite vacation home is gone. Since I was a little kid my family has been vacationing in Seaside, Oregon. We owned a small fudge shop, called The Portland Fudge Company and would spend our summers on the beach and working at the shop. My parents owned a small condo at the end of the promenade.

As I got older I would go with friends and we would spend the weekends down at the beach getting sun and playing in the water. When I met Adam this condo became our getaway. It was a free place for us to go and have a nice vacation on a cheap budget. It was also the place we spent our first three days of our honeymoon together.

As we grew as a family this still remained our favorite place to get away. It was also one of the main reasons we stayed in Portland and Adam decided to go to law school at Lewis and Clark, instead of moving to Denver, Colorado.

This is the first place Zachary went on vacation, first place he put his feet in the sand, the first place he felt the ocean water run up on his toes, the first time he tasted fudge, and had his first walk on the promenade with mom and dad.

We have been coming to Seaside every year for the fourth since our first year of marriage. There is no better place to see the fireworks then on the beach with a bonfire. Zachary spent his first fourth here as well.

Adam learned to surf for the first time here, and Zachary tried on the sand! I have loved watching this boy grow up on the beach, play in the sand, swim in the water. I has brought me so much joy to watch him.

My parents sold the condo and signed over the papers a week ago. Adam and i will continue to come to the beach and plan on spending our fourth in Seaside again this year. It will be so much fun to take Wyatt ans watch him have his first experience at the beach, where all us have shared in so many first experiences here.

I know this isn't the end to Seaside, it is just another beginning since there is where my parents plan on retiring in five years. They are already looking for there next place of residence in Seaside. This place is just as special to them as it is to us.

We will miss you little condo on the promenade, thanks for providing such wonderful memories...

Just Beachy...

Just what our family needed...a restful weekend at the beach! We love going to Seaside every chance we have a free weekend to get away. It has been months since we have been able to get away and escape from Portland with Adam working, school, and basketball. Zachary having tons of different activities every day.

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day, blue skies and warm temperatures. Our family had so much fun spending all day at the beach playing in the sand and water. Especially our girlie, we like to take her to a special beach in Seaside that we can let her off the leash and she can run around freely. Nothing makes her happier!

I just love watching the two of them play together, she is such a sweet dog and loves Zachary so much...you're such a good girlie!

On our last day at the beach we ended up with not so nice weather, but Zachary and the girlie atill wanted to play out on the beach before we left for home. I think they love the sand and water just as much as mommy and daddy!

February Madness...

So it seems that February and March have been a lot like January, a whirlwind of surprises and fun activities. Zachary turned three and Grandma Rankin came to visit. We were glad she didn't end up in the hospital this time!
Zachary learned how to ride a scooter and trike that he got for his birthday. The scooter was from us and my parents bought him a trike and a bike for when he out grows the trike. Spoiled grand baby! Zachary also had his first minor accident that ended up with us taking him to the emergency room, and resulting in three stitches from playing basketball.

Three days later, Adam tried out for the IBL(International Basketball League) up in Redmond, WA and two hours into his try-outs he was elbowed underneath his left eye and had to go to the emergency room. He has thirteen stitches under his eye which will probably need plastic surgery when it completely heels in six months. However, he did make a team, and is playing for the Central Oregon Hot Shots. You can check out the website at http://www.iblhoopsonline.com/, they have just updated there 2010 schedule and roster.
During that same weekend of having two ER visits, I also had a baby shower for Wyatt. It was fun and wonderful to see friends and family again that I don't always always get to see.

Zachary's Birthday Parties

Zachary turned three on February 9th, and had three big celebrations. He had his preschool party at school with his classmates and he just thought he was a King to have mom and dad bring in cupcakes. Later that day he celebrated with a "CARS" birthday party at Out of This World Pizza and Play with family and friends. Then later that night we took Zachary to the Blazers basketball game with family. It was three big parties for such a big three year old!

Zachary's preschool party, he had so much fun having all the attention centered around him, plus it didn't hurt that all the girls in his class are crazy about this sweet boy! But, so is his momma!

"CARS" birthday for the big three year old!

Tremendous Three

Tomorrow is Zachary's third birthday and I can't believe it! I know most parents probably say this every year, but it amazes me how much they can change and grow in a years time. He is so much fun and exciting every day. His energy and curiousness love for life excites me and brings so much joy to mine and his fathers life every day. We love you Bubba, Happy Birthday!

Whirlwind January

I haven't had any posts for January because it has just been a whirlwind of a month for us since the holidays. After the holidays were over, Adam started another semester of law school focusing all his classes on tax in efforts to receive his tax law certificate. He only has twelve more credits to finish for law school! Shortly after starting school he was in Memphis for a week for work. Adam is still playing a ton of basketball. He loves the fact that he is matching up against ex-NBA players!
Zachary and I both came down with bacterial infections which landed me in the hospital and my mom coming down from Gig Harbor to help out around the house. What a huge help she was, I am so thankful.
Zachary was accepted and able to start at a new preschool this January, Sunshine Montessori. He loves school and his classmates, and mom likes that it is closer to home! Zachary started pee-wee hoops and pee-wee soccer two days a week and loves it. Next week Zachary will be turning three, and Grandma Rankin will come for a visit, hopefully she does not end up in the hospital again like the last time she came for a visit! Other then that we are keeping busy and preparing for baby Wyatt's debut!
